Nature comes to town!
In 2017 and 2018, in collaboration with the Municipality of Holstebro, Holstebro Library and Handelsstandsforeningen, we made two large outdoor exhibitions.
We wanted to make a big exhibition in the style of “Earth seen from above” by Yann Arthus-Bertrand which could be seen in Aarhus some years ago. The focus of our exhibition was the local nature: beautiful pictures and a text that described the subject in the picture and also guided the reader in how to get out into nature and experience exactly what you saw in the picture.
We got a really good collaboration, and thus Holstebro pedestrian street all summer had a beautiful view of the surrounding local nature with accompanying text in Danish and German as well as maps of the municipality's nature. Free for all to experience.
The exhibition “Nature comes to town” was combined with a treasure hunt from the library, a nature photo competition on Instagram in collaboration with Dagbladet Holstebro Struer, as well as a free lecture on the work on the pictures. The entire exhibition was later moved to the cities of Vinderup and Ulfborg.
In the 2018 exhibition "Nature nearby" presented new landscapes, animals and plants, all of which can be experienced within Holstebro municipal boundary. Guests in the city could now see deer, dune landscapes and carnivorous plants and much more on their shopping trip, read more and learn how they could easily take a walk themselves and see the phenomena.
